Drive-Ins

I was blown away when my husband said he had never been to a Drive-In. "Never?" I gasped. That was a part of my growing up.

I remember being kids and my parents would have us wear our jammies and bring our pillows to the drive-in. First we would stop at McDonald's and get some grub, then we'd grab a good spot and watch a couple of movies.

I took my kids to the Warrington Drive-in on 611 in Pennsylvania before they tore it down. We saw Lion King and The Flinstones. Now there's a target there.

Take a trip down memory lane. SPEEDtv will be featuring Speed's own "Lost Drive-In" Marathon on Nov 25 at 3pm EST featuring Grand Prix and Rebel Without a Cause" and get caught up in the Street Racing.

Drive-ins were magic and their own breed. You can even have a little drive-in experience at MGM in Disney with their Sci-Fi Diner. Shame there aren't more drive-ins around. I have such found memories of them.

Drive-ins were a summer ritual when I was growing up. As a teenager my girlfriend and I and our boyfriends would go and the guys would sneak in inside the trunk of the car. This worked really well until one night they were making so much noise the attendant caught on to what we were doing. What memories!!!
